Woman Goes On Blind Date and Invites 23 Family Members to Dinner to Test Her Date’s Generosity

A woman’s attempt to test her date’s generosity took an unexpected turn when her plan failed. In an unusual move, she invited 23 family members to their blind date, trying to gauge her date’s openness to share. However, what happened was far from what she had expected.

The woman’s scheme, while ambitious, proved to be ill-conceived. Her date, Mr. Lui, wanted to impress Miss Zhang by offering to treat her and her relatives to a meal at one of his favorite restaurants.

However, he was taken aback when he saw not only her, but also her entire extended family, which numbered 23 people. Understandably, Mr. Lui bristled at the notion of covering the bill for such a huge gathering, resulting in an awkward scenario.

According to the local newspaper Taizhou Evening News, this embarrassing encounter took place in a restaurant in Zhejiang, an eastern Chinese province. The woman’s objectives, albeit questionable, arose from a desire to determine Mr. Lui’s willingness to contribute and provide for her family. However, her implementation of this plan fell short, especially given that it was a blind date.

As the meal progressed, it became clear that Mr. Lui disagreed with the woman’s test of generosity. Instead of cheerfully receiving the bill, he left abruptly, leaving the woman to face the consequences alone. The bill, which totaled 20,000 yuan (or $3,100), was now exclusively her burden, a sad end to her test.

However, Zhang did not stop there. The partner, jilted by the outcome of the blind date, went so far as to sue Mr. Liu. The court ordered that Mr. Liu would only have to pay 1400 yuan of the bill.

In retrospect, the woman’s attempt to judge her date’s generosity was not only ineffective but also costly. While she may have had good intentions, her attempt to evaluate Mr. Lui’s character failed spectacularly. This cautionary tale serves as a reminder that honesty and communication are more important in any relationship than sophisticated personality assessments.
