Fun-loving cowgirl Sarah intended to surprise her husband, David. She emailed him a picture of herself seated by a horse corral in her preferred cowgirl attire.

She had no idea, though, that this benign act would permanently alter their lives.

David found something interesting when he got the picture. Neither Sarah’s happy grin nor the gorgeous horse in the backdrop fit. It was where it was located.

Though it was not their property, the ranch in the picture seemed shockingly familiar. Sarah had spent time with her former boyfriend on this ranch.

David’s head swirled with uncertainty and doubt. As he focused on the picture, his misgivings were validated. It happened at the same location. Sarah said she visited her ex-husband and explained it as a harmless catch-up with an old buddy when David confronted her. But her silence and the lack of her wedding band in the picture just served to heighten David’s mistrust.

The familiar scene set David on a trip through unresolved emotions. The memory of Sarah’s past made him blindsided. David could not get over his sense of betrayal even with her justifications.
