Simone Biles responds to critics about her hair, hours before winning her 8th Olympic medal

Even though Simone Biles is the most decorated U.S. Olympic gymnast and holds more than 35 Olympic and World medals along with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States, there are some who still feel the need to criticize the world champion.

“Simone Biles hair never being done properly be pissing me off. Everybody else on the team is put together, then she looks like she just rolled out of bed.”

Ahead of the women’s gymnastics team finals, Biles, 27, shared a message with her critics on her Instagram Story.

“Don’t come for me about my hair,” the Olympic athlete captioned a video of herself. “IT WAS DONE but [the] bus has NO AC & it’s like 9,0000 degrees,” she continued. “Oh & a 45 min ride.”

In a separate Instagram Story, Biles shared a selfie writing, “Gonna hold your hand when I say this 💋Next time you wanna comment on a black girls hair. JUST DON’T.”

Throughout the competition, Biles has received countless comments about her hair.

Many women tend to wear their hair in a slicked back ponytail or bun, while Biles has been sporting a looser hairstyle.

According to the rules, USA gymnasts must be “well groomed in her appearance” and make sure their hair is “secured away from the face so as to not obscure her vision of the apparatus.”

Despite the rules, many people have taken to social media to critique Biles’ hairstyle.

“Simone Biles’s hair stylist should be fired.”

“I’m confused did Simone biles purposely not do her hair?? Every single gymnast CLEARLY has their hair gel/sprayed down and in a tight beat appearance…. Her bun is literally flopping around with pieces sloppy everywhere. It almost seems… on purpose…???? Wtf”

“I know Simone Biles was complaining about the hair comments on her documentary but damn she needs someone else to do her hair not her mom no offence.”
