Jennifer Lopez snapped back at Ben Affleck with a “spectacular” response to his praise over her performance in Unstoppable, a film he produced alongside Matt Damon.

When Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez started working on the film Unstoppable in May 2023, the couple were still in their honeymoon phase following their July 2022 shotgun wedding in Las Vegas.

Only two weeks before the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, the couple filed for divorce.

Despite their differences, the former pair made it work.

In a clip that’s been seen by almost 45,000 people, the Gigli star replies, “I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful.”

“It’s always been about the movie and that’s their personal business,” director William Goldbenberg told E! News the same month the film was released. “We just kept it about the movie. We just kept her eye on the prize.”

The 2024 sports drama film, produced by Matt Damon and Affleck under their Artists Equity production company, stars Lopez, 55, as the mother of Anthony Robles, a wrestler born with one leg who won the 2011 NCAA Championship for Arizona State.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on November 4, Affleck explained that “Unstoppable is a very different movie…but in a way, it’s similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists.”

“It speaks to a certain kind of thing I guess we’re drawn to. We really believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved in it are deeply connected to the story,” said the 52-year-old star of Gone Girl.

Always vocal about his admiration for his ex’s professional dedication and resilience, Affleck then added “Jennifer’s spectacular,” while also complimenting the director along with cast members Jharrel Jerome as Robles, Don Cheadle and Bobby Cannavale.

“It’s an enormous success because of how beautiful it is…We believed in the right people, and Unstoppable is another example of that.”

Meanwhile, on November 5, the singer of “Jenny on the Block” dazzled fans in a snowy white outfit at a special screening of the film at London’s Cineworld Leicester Square.

“Unstoppable screening London, On my way to uuuuuu,” Lopez tweeted to her 44.1 million followers from her car ride to the opening.

Speaking with the media on the red carpet, the mother of two was quick to reply when one reporter said, “Ben Affleck described you as spectacular in your performance, how would you describe his producing?”

Fans jumped into the comments section, expressing their amusement over her sharp response where she dodges the question specific to her ex-husband.

“She’s like, ‘I don’t know him,’” tweets one fan, while a second writes, “She said ‘I’m taking my light/energy with me’”

Another suggests the Jersey Girl “is keeping her personal life under wraps, especially regarding her ex.” The user tweets, “It’s not uncommon for celebrities to sidestep questions about past relationships, particularly in the spotlight. This could be a way for her to maintain privacy and focus on her current life and career.”

The netizen isn’t wrong.

The multi-hyphenate told People that she’s had a tough year and plans to “slow down” and recharge with loved ones by her side, over the holidays.

“It was a pretty intense year for me, and I’m most looking forward to spending time with my kids and my family coming out from the East Coast,” Lopez said in the interview published November 5. “The holidays are such a special time for us, and they’ve always been since I was a little girl. And I really look forward to those moments when I can be with my sisters and just relax and have fun and create new memories.”
