Here’s how Travis Kelce won over Taylor Swift: He got her number and made the first move 👇🤭

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship has captured widespread attention, becoming one of the most talked-about celebrity romances in recent years.

Now, new details have emerged about how their love story truly began—including confirmation that Kelce made the first move and that the couple had already been dating before Swift’s highly publicized appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game in September 2023.

How It All Started: Kelce Took the First Step

According to an exclusive source speaking to Parade, the pair first started talking in August 2023. It was Kelce who initiated contact, with the insider revealing that he “got her number and made the first move.”

This revelation aligns with what Swift shared in her TIME “Person of the Year” interview in December 2023. In that interview, she confirmed that their relationship quietly began after Kelce mentioned her on his New Heights podcast.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell. We started hanging out right after that,” Swift explained.

By the time she attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023, they were already a couple. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard-launch a first date,” Swift clarified.

Clearing Up the Timeline Confusion

Speculation about the timing of their romance intensified after reality TV personality Wes Bergmann claimed to have known about their relationship months before it became public.

Bergmann, a former contestant on The Traitors, had suggested that he was aware of Swift and Kelce’s romance before her first public appearance at a Chiefs game, citing that he was Kelce’s neighbor.

However, Bergmann later retracted his claims. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on March 4, he acknowledged that Kelce did not even move into the luxury Kansas City apartment complex where Bergmann lived until November 2023—two months after Swift’s first public show of support at a Chiefs game.

Reflecting on their private early days, Swift expressed gratitude for the time they had out of the spotlight.

“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she said in her TIME interview.

As their relationship continues to evolve, Swift and Kelce remain one of the most closely followed couples, blending their worlds of music and sports in a way that has captivated fans everywhere.
