Amanda Bynes has had a tough time in the last few years. The former child star has been going through some mental health-related crises and has abandoned her Hollywood career altogether.

Now, she has stepped out with a new look, which has really surprised people.

At one point in time, Amanda Bynes was one of the most recognizable young faces on the planet. The rising young star, however, stopped appearing on television and film screens as her struggle with her mental health seemed to intensify.

In the recent past the actress has opened up about her issues with substance abuse. “I got really into my drug usage and it became a really dark, sad world for me,” she said, describing her daily life after quitting acting as “just stuck at home, getting high, watching TV and tweeting,” she said in an interview.“I’ve been sober for almost four years now,” Bynes at the time, credited her parents for “really helping me get back on track.”

Her parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes, supported her decision to have her conservatorship dissolved. The former child actress had been placed in a conservatorship since 2013. Her conservatorship of the estate was terminated in 2017.

“In the last several years, I have been working hard to improve my health so that I can live and work independently, and I will continue to prioritize my well-being in this next chapter,” Bynes said in a statement delivered by her attorney David Esquibias, on March 22, 2022. “I am excited about my upcoming endeavors — including my fragrance line — and look forward to sharing more when I can,” the actress said about gaining control back into her life.

The Ventura Superior Court Judge Roger L. Lund who made the decision for dissolution of the conservatorship said that the decision came about because “grounds for establishment of a conservatorship of the person no longer exist.”

But last years, things slipped up a little bit. The actress was placed on a psychiatric hold for 72-hours after calling emergency services herself. A source close to the situation at the time said, “She hasn’t been in contact with her family for quite some time.”

The actress was seen walking around naked in the streets of Los Angeles on March, 19th. She then flagged down a passing by vehicle and called 911 on herself in order to get help.

According to reports, the actress told the driver that she had been coming down from a psychotic episode. She was then taken to the nearby police station, where professionals determined that she needed to be put under a 5150 psychiatric hold.

Since the 2023 episode, the actress has remained mostly out of headlines until now. Now it seems, Amanda Bynes, but there are new photos of her and she’s sporting a new look.

The 38-year-old former child star was seen out and about last week, sporting jet black hair and super long nails.

She was wearing an oversized gray t-shirt along with khaki shorts. She completed the looked with a crossbody bag around her shoulder.

In March this year, the former actress had stated that she was “going to start wearing wigs now” since she buzzed her hair late last year but was not happy with how her hair was “growing out so awkwardly.”

She has previously also talked about how she gained a lot of weight due to depression this year and is hoping to lose over 50 pounds to get to her ideal weight goal.

As pictures of her current look hit the internet, some people did not have very kind things to say. One person wrote, “Very scary. She has become a monster.” While another added, “People are turning into the white walkers 🤦🏻‍♀️”

But others were angry at the picture and the mean-spirited comments. One person wrote, “This should have never made it onto the Internet. This woman is in the middle of a massive mental health moment/crisis. Ye should be so ashamed. Leave her alone.”

Another added in Bynes’ defense, “My heart breaks for her. I wish the internet would leave her alone 😢” with another chiming in with similar sentiment saying, “Please stop posting Amanda she’s had enough scrutiny and hurt in her life. She’s suffered enough”
