this girl saw its potential. She envisioned it as the perfect addition to her home decor.
First, she stripped off the old finish using nothing more than Fairy dish soap and a metal sponge.
Given that the plywood and pine weren’t particularly valuable and the drawers were missing,
she decided to give the dresser a fresh coat of paint.
The plan was to repurpose it as a shoe rack. She began by sanding down any imperfections in the wood and cleaning the surface, then moved on to painting. The interior shelves were given a new look with leftover paint from a previous project.
Although the paint was labeled as acrylic enamel, it behaved more like alkyd—thick and aromatic—but it covered the surface beautifully. To replace the missing drawers, she crafted new doors from materials she bought at a local market.
