Corey Comperatore, the man that lost his life at the Trump rally. He was a father and former fire chief

Shot and killed by the same shooter who attempted to kill Donald Trump, the man was 50 years old.

The victim of the attempted assassination of US President Donald Trump by a sniper has been identified as Corey Comperatore, a former volunteer fire chief from Pennsylvania.

Tragically, 50-year-old Comperatore died during a Trump rally in Pennsylvania while attempting to save his daughter from harm.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, the gunman, shot the ex-president and two people before cops shot and killed him.

“The PA Trump Rally claimed the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore,” Dawn Comperatore Schafer wrote on Facebook, breaking the tragic news that her brother had died. Our dearest loved one was murdered because of our animosity for one man. Her brother, she said, died heroically protecting his daughter. Both hatred and love know no boundaries. This feels like a horrible nightmare, but we know it is our sad reality. Pray for my sister-in-law, nieces, mother, sister, myself, and his nieces and nephews.

Both Corey’s wife and daughter recounted events from that day as well. “He protected my body from the bullet that was aimed at us,” his daughter Allyson wrote. He cherished his family. She called her father “a real-life superhero” and said, “He truly loved us enough to take a real bullet for us.”

“Yesterday, what turned out to be such an exciting day for our family, turned into a nightmare for our husband especially,” his wife Helen said, expressing her anguish. It is unbearable that my darling daughters were witnesses to this. This is what I had to do. The hero he had always been died within him.

Those fortunate enough to have known and loved Corey Comperatore will always hold his courage and devotion to his loved ones in high regard. The limitless love of a father and the meaninglessness of violence are both brought to light by his terrible demise.
