Billie Eilish has publicly slammed Elon Musk, calling the billionaire’s approach to wealth “f*cking pathetic” as the Tesla and X CEO edges closer to potentially becoming the world’s first trillionaire.
Musk is on track to reach that milestone if he meets a series of long-term performance targets over the next decade. The news did not sit well with Eilish, who took to Instagram Stories to voice her anger — both bluntly and unapologetically.
Referring to Musk directly, Eilish wrote:
“F-cking pathetic p-ssy b-tch coward.”
She followed the message with a series of images outlining what she believes someone with Musk’s level of wealth could accomplish — including ending world hunger, protecting endangered species, and helping rebuild war-torn regions like Gaza.
The comments quickly went viral, sparking intense debate online. Critics were quick to point out that Eilish herself has an estimated net worth of around $50 million. However, supporters argued that her fortune pales in comparison to Musk’s — a difference so vast it almost defies comprehension.
To put it into perspective: with a trillion dollars, Musk could spend $1 million every single day and still take nearly 3,000 years to run out of money.
While Musk does donate millions — and occasionally billions — to charitable causes, his philanthropy has often been criticized for its lack of transparency. Many of his donations are tied to tax efficiency, donor-advised funds, or initiatives closely aligned with his business interests, leaving questions about where the money ultimately ends up and who truly benefits.
Whether or not Musk will respond is unclear. Given the tone of Eilish’s remarks, it seems unlikely he’ll take her advice to heart. A public feud wouldn’t be surprising — but regardless, Eilish’s comments have reignited a familiar question:
Should any one person on Earth ever be allowed to hold that much power in the form of wealth?
